THOUGHT
 Bertrand Russel
(pictured on the right), a brilliant mathematician philosopher, was an atheist. While
C.S Lewis, professor at Oxford University, was teaching his students to think.
He was an ex-atheist.
Bertrand Russel said, "Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth,
more than ruin, more even than death." further on he says, "Thought is
subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to
privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into
the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the
light of the world, and the chief glory of man."
C.S. Lewis (pictured below) is most popular these days for have
written "The Chronicles of Narnia," (incidentally died the same day that president Kennedy was
assassinated). J.F.K. was the first Catholic president, and as the crutch of
this essay proceeds, was just one of most humans demonized by immoral sexuality
. Some think J.F.K. to be trash, though he accomplished much in three short
years.
C.S. Lewis was forced by family to attend Church regularly in native Ireland.
Being young with an inquisitive mind he lamented that he was "very angry with
God for not existing". Regarding that forced attendance at church he viewed that
as "a chore and as a duty." On TV's Big Bang show, Amy Farrah Fowler a
neurobiologist when first meeting theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper said she
"I don't object to the concept of a deity, but I'm baffled by the notion of one
that takes attendance." Sheldon answers "Then you might want to avoid East
Texas." Lewis expands upon some youthful misgivings when he said ; "Had God
designed the world, it would not be a world so frail and faulty as we see."
CONVERSION TO CHRISTIANITY
 Phantastes, (a book by George Macdonald published in 1858 and still available
on Amazon with a 4 star rating under $15) changed the life of atheist Lewis. Of
the night he read it Lewis states "That night my imagination was, in a certain
sense, baptized; the rest of me, not unnaturally, took longer. I had not the
faintest notion what I had let myself in for by buying Phantastes." Lewis later
writes in an autobiography of an imaginary meeting with George Macdonald in
Heaven; "I tried, trembling, to tell this man all that his writings had done for
me. I tried to tell how a certain frosty afternoon at Leatherhead Station when I
had first bought a copy of Phantastes (being then about sixteen years old) had
been to me what the first sight of Beatrice had been to Dante: Here begins the
new life. I started to confess how long that Life had delayed in the region of
imagination merely: how slowly and reluctantly I had come to admit that his
Christendom had more than an accidental connection with it, how hard I had tried
not to see the true name of the quality which first met me in his books is
Holiness."
C.S. Lewis did his thinking and changed his life and satirically comments on
his conversion thinking "Thus it is better not be thought of as a proof of God's
existence, but as an attempt to disprove naturalistic materialism .... In that,
nobody designed my brain for the purpose of thinking."
Roman King Marcus Antoninus in the second century persecuting Christians
argues "our life is what our thoughts make it." Paracelsus 14 centuries later, a
genius physician following the words of Christ, traveled the world in pursuit of
hidden knowledge, "To Heal Thyself." He wrote "thoughts are free and are subject
to no rule. On them rest the freedom of man, and they tower above the light of
nature, create a new heaven, a new firmament, a new source of energy." These are
some deep thinkers. Gifts to humanity.
HBO Documentary Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of
God; My rebuttal:
Man and God and Law
 It would be comforting to call the horrific violations recounted in
"Mea Maxima Culpa" unthinkable. But a true God believing Catholic (especially
clergy) believe and KNOW that God's law and justice supersedes Man's law. If a
person goes to the lowliest of ordained priests and confesses to a crime, even
murder, that ordination enforces an honor bound by dogma that it is even a
confessional sanctity to keep that knowledge confidential. The privacy of the
confessional is a stronger bond than even "attorney client privilege." Christ
forgives and so do Priests believing, most earnestly, in the power of
forgiveness. As Catholic Dogma that right only extends to them through the
succession of St. Peter. Penance must be done and by priestly instruction. They
will advise you to go to the civil authorities, but can't make you. But
attorneys, prosecutors, judges and the civil court system is minor in comparison
to the law and power of God.
What these priest did (Sexual pedophilia) was a crime but more importantly it
was sin. Those same religious people that trust in God, exorcise the Devil
(mostly Satan's legion of demons). They are bound to secrecy, but not deception.
Just study the rules of man and God and law and think of a bigger picture. The
Pope said it was a great sadness and horrific tragedy, but never denied or
destroyed documentation. Dig deeper into a scandal that has invaded the Boy
Scouts, Protestant ministers and the whole world. The Catholic church is not
immune to Satan who rules THIS WORLD in search of the ruin of souls. It is God's
Will to redeem those Souls, not litigate them. I can't tell you what these
religious hierarchy did was right or wrong, I just understand why they could do
it no other way. Jail or Hell, what simpler decisions are you making today?
Life is but a moment in an eternity. Drop an atomic bomb and let God sort out
the aftermath. But don't deny those who trust they are helping God before that
any reaping occurs to do their opportunity to do their jobs. This madness is
thinkable. For those who believe in the power of forgiveness ad infinitum the
madness won't ever leave a 2000 year reign of the right to wield their sword of
Christ. In their mind they're right, in your mind they're wrong. Think about it.
Who knows the mind of God? But there are many honest, sincere and sacrificing
Souls, living in this plane of existence, attempting it. "You gotta serve
somebody, it may be the Devil or it may be the Lord, but you're gon'na serve
somebody." you know who said that. It's the same person who said "I said that."
Heaven is where we can be in each other's dreams. He must of meant that when he
said it. Think again.
